    HI Rovers

Is old Sonsub triton any good? I am talking about those around 10 years old. Someone told be they are improve version of scorpion.

Getting mix review….. wonder if spares are still available for them. Dont want to work on a crappy ROV with low spares especially in current market.

    Appreciate any comments

Old Sonsub Tritons are closer to 20 rather than 10 years old.

I was on the same vessel as triton 16 5 years ago it was really old then but as with every Sonsub system I have been on it seemed to have reasonable spares and it did work

Perry vehicles have a pretty good track record… Like any other vehicle, the state of it depends on us…

crappy ROV’s (still a few out there) as well as good stocked ones need people of experience and right attitude to work on them and make then serviceable.

as scotbeve said triton is a perry vehicle albeit an earlier model, but generally has a good track record

as with anything in this business be prepared to work at it to make it work if its not ROV’s its the sensors or the tools

Just change your CV from Pilot to Superintendent.

You appear to have the correct attitude, I am sure there is a Golden Clipboard with your name on it.

The worst oily I’ve worked on was the Sealion, and it’s blessed offspring, the Seapup, was no better. You’d naturally assume that an ROV that is a direct copy of another would keep all the good bits, and ditch the rest.
Oh yeah, I’ve jumped on the ‘Latin’ bandwagon. 🙄

Yeah, they can be trying at times – especially the "bath tub plug"!!

What was your best?? I had (believe it or not) Rigworker 1, 2, & 3 at a company and all 3 of them had zero hyd problems for over a year. 2 of them had the original plumbing as well (banjo fittings).
