A slight exaggeration as people on the rigs never got it back so hardly "99% of oil and gas workers"!, nor people who did not do enough days to qualify or spent too much time in the country etc.
It will affect some people but in no way a majority. The FED was always seen as a perk and it wasnt fair that some people could claim the perk while others couldnt.
Would be interested to know how many people actually claim it back out of the tens of thousands of people who work on boats.
I am surprised that the perk lasted as long as it did.
