This is one carried over from the old forum

Most companies in M.E expect Medicals yearly.
So if your medical is over one year you will probably have to take a local medical before ye go offshore 😯

Never heard this one before – i.e. companies in M.E requiring 1 yr validity, have worked there lots for various companies, and offshore medical cert has always been accepted on basis of expiry date printed on it (i.e UKOOA renewal criteria in my case). Unless it has changed in M.E recently?

Only problem I’ve usually encountered has been discrepancy between validity period of UKOOA medical cert (e.g. 3 yrs) and Norwegian medical cert – Norwegian (2yrs) so usually runs out a year before UKOOA one, so have to re-do earlier, or not work in Norway again until get back in sync. Cheaper and more convenient to have Norwegian and UKOOA medical done at same time. Varies with age also.

Not sure what the diving medical rules are, probably annually, maybe that’s what is being referred to?

Diving medicals are and have always been on an annual basis but you will find certain companies in the M.E that require all personnel to have a valid yearly ticket to cover their Liability insurance.
(Something to do with the yanks again unfortunately )
As to Wooden top land they used to require xrays once a year,
Has this now stopped there ?
