Hi folks,
i am new to this forum and this is my first topic 🙂
For aprox 2 years now i have been looking for a rov trainee job in norway whitout any luck. The most frustrated about the hole applying thing is that every time i`m in contact whit a rov company they say the same thing over and over again and that is:
You have the right education and skills to become an rov trainee, please send your application and CV to us.
I dont have the safety course but that dont seems to matter becouse if you are the right person the course is a drop in the ocean.
Sometimes i just wish that they would say, sorry, you dont have the right educations to become an rov trainee. Stubborn as i am i guess i will kip on trying until i succeed and becouse of the age, 34, the time is starting to running out.
Now, as i sad in the beginning this has been going on for 2 years so i have been thinking of maybe moving to Australia if i could get a job as rov trainee.
So my question is:
any one out there that has knowledge of any austrailen companies that might hire an desperate rov trainee from norway 🙄 a mail or a name would be wery nice 😀
well, thats about it i think and i realy hopeing for some replys.
I dont know if my e-mail is showing but it is: fastbike200@hotmail.com so if anyone whant to mail me, they are wery welcome 🙂September 30, 2006 at 3:33 pm #8358slayerParticipantYou could try Geo Subsea: human.resources (at) geosubsea.com
Not sure how they deal with traineesHave you tried all Norwegian companies? If you have the right background, it should be possible to get an opening. Phone them all once a week until they get so tired of your calling that they take you on..
Quick list:
Acergy, DeepOcean, Geoconsult, Fugro, Sonsub, Subsea7, Oceaneering, Techocean, Accpron, Remoquip
Probably more but these were the ones that came to mind

Hi slayer and thanks for the reply:)
i have tryed most of the companies that you are listing exept from Remoquip. For aprox 1 1/2 years ago i had a frequent dialog whit subsea7, think his name was geri skaara or something. Anyway, he sayd that i had good chances to get a trainee job and that is was just a mather of time before they was going to decide. Two days or something before they was going to decide if they was going to hire a trainee all the responsibility whent to the headoffice in Aberdeen and geir skaara had nothing to say anymore. Talking of bad luck! In desperation i mail subsea7 in Aberdeen, and guess what, no reply:(September 30, 2006 at 7:31 pm #8360Ray ShieldsParticipantZik,
if you have spent 1.5 years trying to get a job, and even none of the Norwegian companies will take you on, Im afraid you make have to face the fact that the chances of you getting one are extremely remote!
Geo Consult are desperate for people, Norwegian companies will only employ Norwegian nationals, anyone else has to come in via Agency or another out of country such as Uk office.

hi,
geoconcult need more rov pilotes before they can employ more trainees. The reason is simple, in order to take care of the trainees they need more rov pilotes. I have been in regular contact whit them so i know this.
Geoconcult has my application and they have not yet turnd me down so there are stil hope 🙂October 2, 2006 at 10:58 am #8362slayerParticipantYou can reach Remoquip on phone: 51 72 06 72 or 91 59 83 20 or mail jorn (at) amoy-neringspark.no
