i was with Phoenix a few years ago and they had no work and cut everyones hours. just about everyone who was there in morgan shitty is now at ci or global. one or two went to maryland. i think they have one boat now with dive, suits and rov all together.

18 – 21 per hour? How do they keep decent techs?

I asked because I noticed they picked up the contract with NOAA to provide ROV support on one of their ships Okeanos Explorer. NOAA does interesting work but don’t pay their people near what they should. Too bad because they could do much better by increasing their pay scale.

those rates are from 3 years ago. but since everyone has left them and they only have 1 UHD left, they dont have many guys. plus i get calls from agencies asking if i have a problem working with phoenix again. the rates they tell me are not any better.

I can’t speak to their wages, but I just met with a bunch of their folks in Maryland and they are probably some of the most up beat happy folks I’ve met in the industry in a long time. They took great pride in showing me their state of the art control room. They explained that it was designed by the system operators, not someone who has no offshore experience, and quite frankly was very nicely laid out. A lot of thought went into each station.

Spacer- my advice would be to contact them directly and not rely on second hand word of mouth or numbers that are 3 years old.

    Good Luck,

Has Phoenix still got the SUPSALV contract?

    Glevum,

I’m not 100% positive, but there were quite a few containers that had SUPSALV on them in the Largo, MD office. Based on that I would venture to say yes, but I may be mistaken.

they do most if not all SUPSALV work. i think the contract is for 5 or 10 years.
they have offices everywhere that the navy has a naval base. Global Diving is trying to venture into that contract also now.
