    Hi all,
    I am Gagan, I was working with Oceaneering Int. for the past 14 months, and was positioned as Workshop Engg. in BATAM Island Indonesia.
    I just resigned from there because Oceaneering Asia really sucks Big time…

    I have my BOSIET(OPITO) certification and medical certification from Singapore as per UK standards. Was wondering if someone could help and suggest me what to do next, I know how to work on ROV’s, repair Manips and Sliprings. and dont mind getting dirty.
    just wanna start my career with Offshore as ROV Tech.

    Must have really sucked if you chucked it all in to start from scratch?

    Do you mind sharing your reasons, or is it just you wished that opportunity offshore, which OI Asia were unwilling to do?

    As you probably already know, go door knock all the local companies first. It may be difficult getting that start for someone else, as your “Magnumised” now. They want Perry, SMD, Schilling, SeaEye etc, with many guys (and not working) about already.

    Keep trying, but bad time to be doing it.

    there is too much of politics involved in asia region…. and i am familiar with perry’s swift and MTQ’s phoenix…. but the problem i am facing is having no experience offshore…
    srry bt cant post all shit i had over there in OII at this discussion…
