eCigarettes ?

Much is being said about the alternatives to the use of smelly burning tobacco.

I have smoked tobacco for too long but enjoy it. My poor friends gag in the control room when I return after sucking down a cig at the smoko’. I know it STINKS. Have tried almost everything to stop but never lasts for more than a few months.

I haven’t had a smoke for a few weeks now but honestly, not a happy camper. Now considering the eCigarette.

Are any of you there using it?? Any (constructive) comment?

Have you tried alternatives ?
I tried the chewing gum but it didna help but you get more TicTac in a pack.
Everytime I wanted a smoke , I had a Tictac.
There is also Nicerettes gum , you tried them ? they work out a bit expensive ( But less than a packet of smokes though )

Not a direct reply but related,

have you considered Snus? (spelling may be incorrect)

I have tried it previously and found that it has a pleasant flavour and scent and doesn’t make you drool like a fool.

Like all tobacco products there is an associated health risk but on the upside you can get your nicotine fix without leaving the shack.

Not available here in Australia (illegal) but should be available in Europe, I believe.

I have received a good response from many of you. It is appreciated.
There was also a hearty, private reply that I feel is worthy of posting.
I do this ‘anonymously’ as respect for the original composer;

"Get your hands on ‘Champix’ from the doctor. Two pills a day and after a little while, you start to forget the last time you smoked. When you do have one, you don’t really enjoy it. After about ten to twelve days, you can happily throw away the pack and lighter.

I kid you not, these things are bloody miracles in pill form. I smoked a pack of Marlboros a day since I was eleven. I’ve tried it all from patches to that electronic fag. Nothing stopped me thinking of the real thing for long enough to be able to refuse a fag if offered one. These are even pretty good on the piss.

Aye, I agree with r2d2

Champix stopped me and the missus from smoking, one pill in the morning and one in the evening………….

the only downside was that I had incredibly lucid nightmares……..enough to make you want a fag (cigarette).

positives are endless………….

happy new year to one and all when it arrives, and good luck with stopping the smokes.

Hi folks,
first , wishing you all a very happy newyear.
Tried them all. Nicorete tabs. patches. and champix.
came close to stopping with Champix but it gave me morning sickness
so i had a coffee and lit another ciggie.

I have enjoyed the hearty response from all of you. Thanks.

I’ve been using the e-ciggi for about a week. No decisive opinion held as yet but will mention that I don’t stink as much as I used to and no need to bathe or change as often. (Oops?)

There was a glimmer of hope that my newfound attractiveness would result in "cable-tv type passion" ie: 24/7, on-demand but alas, I must be a miserable old horrible fart anyway as the missus has moved into the next room and the teenagers are looking for a protection program …. be it witness, animal or anything (Huh?? WTF?)

Jokes aside, it is quite different though I’d hate to drop one over the side as they are not inexpensive. It is interesting that they loosly resemble the real thing. I suppose some of us simple animals need the association in order to be satisfied.

Will keep you informed and very Good luck to you all too!!
