Hi,

I am interested in becoming an ROV tech. I have a mechanical engineering degree and have a very technical background..

I have smoked pot maybe 20-30 times in the past year. I can certainly pass a urine test but am concerned about passing a hair follicle test.

Can anyone tell me if the pre-emplyment drug screen for an Oceaneering ROV tech job is a hair test, blood test, or urine test??

I know random urine tests are given offshore which will be no problem. I’m not a pot head and will stop recreational use for a fun job!

Do any specific locations require hair testing??

hi,

what i know is just interview w/ the boss then written test according your technical background…if pass they will send u to trainning class and "working" in the workshop…once you ready or the boss think u ready or need for upmann they will send u to offshore….before that u need med-check and BOSIET….

Hopefully this is in the U S of A
I don’t care how qualified you may be academically, working offshore is an inherently dangerous environment.

If I thought anyone on my crew was using illegal drugs..they wouldn’t BE*

They have a very strict method of testing .They will find out if you are smoking pot .If you dont smoke you have absolutely no chance of getting a job .But if youre a pothead the skies the limit chum……..
