Hello:

Im interested in hydropower dam and flooded tunnels inspections..does anyone know to deal with positioning in this environment (tunnels specially).

Are there any papers addresing the subject?.

Hi,
Are you interested in performing tunnel inspections or as a client?
There are ways of accurately positioning a vehilce within a tunnel, however, the most common way is by means of an umbilical line-counter.
We have experience in tunnel penetrations up to, so far, 2.6km for video and profiler surveys using a specifically modified ROV.
