A company with projects all over the world adding another ‘ROV Instructor’ to their staff that not only trains new recruits but also familiarises project/graduate engineers and other project staff with ROV’s. Seems ok to me?

They are usually the ones which could not hack doing the job in the first place same for other industries. no reason why ROV would be any different.
might be a JOB for that Guy who wanted to be a Supervisor after year in the job.

Must be me then, cos I did it for a couple of years 🙂

I enjoyed being able to pass on proper, real world experience to Trainees, and I feel it is much more valuable than some of the textbook and theoretical training they get at some training schools.

I think it is a good job for someone who maybe has had enough of being away 6 months of the year and would like to help new people into the industry.

"old hands" are always getting slagged off for not remembering when they were Trainees or for not wanting to help new people to get a start, this is a good way of them to help.

I quite fancy something like this but being a lowly superintendent and only having 21 years offshore experience not sure if i am qualified enough, and i don’t want people telling me i only did it cos i couldn’t hack the offshore life. 😀

I think an instructor would be fun… can’t be any worse than the ones out there already.. might need a few more yrs in teh industry first, but yeah quite fancy it

i wonder if the cash would be the same as my £600 sub eng day rate.. 😈

    Hey Nimrod,

    Why are you under-cutting everybody?

Need a job in the office that much?
