The scuttlebutt is permeating the ranks. Anyone in the know on Chouest starting their own ROV group to populate their vessels? With the un-dieing support of SEPCO, could this work? Surely one of you knuckleheads have been approached to help get things rolling?

Which english do you want? The rumor is Chouest Offshore is looking into starting their own ROV group. That would put all of Oceaneering’s anchor handling support ROV’s on the market. Market meaning available for other projects. OII and Chouest are the love children of Shell Exploration and Production Company (SEPCO). My questions were:

    1)Could Chouest pull this off?
2)Has anyone that’s working the anchor handlers been approached by Chouest?

    Check you pm Skinny:

To answer your question yes Oceaneering Personnel are being approached on the side. From management (operations/Supply/Support)to Operators (superintendents/Supervisors/Techs) on the Chouest vessel.

The Chouest ROV Group will be run from IMS (International Marine Systems, LLC) which is owned by Chouest.

No word yet as to pay, benifits, rotation, travel etc….Probably could write your own ticket.

    Regards
