Anyone use the Hyro Lek HLK 31000 water jet system before? Is it good enough to clean marine growth off platform to check the wielding point?
Normally we just used wire brush but that tend to be too challenging in hard to access area. Rent a surface high pressure water jet system before too but that is very expensive.
Does anyone have any better equipment or idea to clean platform, stp etc?
I’ve used it before and was really good. Blast out any kind of marine growth and cleans to shining metal.
If you can get close enough, any water jet will nearly complete the job.
cheers
You could also consider the Neron HPP pumps. Various versions available delivering from 170bar up to 800bar. I think you can connect them in series too for better performance. I’ve used them in the past for cleaning and they were fine. I have a scanned in manual in PDF format that whichever company I was working for at the time sent out. Poor quality scan but you should be able to get the info you need from it. Either post up your email address or send me a pm with it and I’ll forward the manual on.
We’ve found the Neron units to be pretty unreliable. They work pretty efficiently buy wear out quickly and you need to carry several spares on any long-use job.
We’ve been buying Dynaset pumps from a small outfit called something like Specialist ROV Tooling
Thanks for all you guys suggestion. The only problem i have wih HLK 3000 is that it required 3 phase 440 or 660V. Our ROV used 3 phase 1200V, so any ideas beside using step down transformer?
Dynaset seems to be an attractive option. Just a few questions. Their website do not show subsea application. Which model are you guys talking about? i assume the pump will be installed on the ROV thus need a depth rating.
