Acergy might have to lay off as many as 180 workers in Norway and the UK.
According to Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv, the company’s order backlog is shrinking, and Acergy is now warning the market that it will have to lay off between 70 and 90 workers in Norway, and just as many in Britain.
"We’re in a process with the unions to find out the exact number," says CEO Øyvind Mikalsen, and highlight the sharp decline in E&P spending as the reason for the downsizing.
