This "GIANT" field adds approx 12 days to the worlds reserves at today’s rate of consumption, probably less by the time it is developed. Yep, just 12 days, and they don’t find "Giant" ones like this every day of the week. Sobering stuff.

I thought it was much larger than that – >3billion barrels according to the article and we’re presently running at 85 mbbpd?

ah pants, that’s only a month…… yup, sobering indeed !!

No suprise that petrobras are involved in an ultradeep find eh?? 😆

Plus the recovery rate is typically only 20 -30% in these fields. That’s where the 12 days come from.
