SeaView Systems, Inc (www.seaviewsystems.com) is a Michigan, USA based ROV services firm specializing in long distance pipeline and tunnel inspections, custom tooling design, salvage, offshore surveys and UXO route surveys. We provide a range of marine technology products including optical fiber multiplexers, inertial wave height sensors and ROV related electronic components.
As a growing company we have a requirement to hire one experienced ROV supervisor and one ROV Pilot/Tech who are able to support our service operations.
We are a US based company and the successful candidate will need to be located locally to our office in Dexter, Michigan. To be considered at all for either of these positions a candidate must either be a US citizen or have a US work visa in place.
If you do not have the necessary documentation to work in the US please do not apply.
Our projects are seldom more than a week or two long and so employees should expect to spend around 30-40% of their time in the field with the balance working in our workshop, preparing equipment for the next project. We operate internationally and so candidates should expect to travel abroad once or twice a year, typically for 2-3 weeks at a time.
The successful candidates will have the following skillsets:
ROV Supervisor
-Technical electronic or electro/mechanic training to a minimum of technician level (2 year associates degree or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years of experience working with ROVs. Inspection class ROV experience is beneficial but not essential.
-A demonstrated aptitude and interest in electronics and mechanics.
-Ability to supervise others and uphold SeaView Systems safety policies and contribute to further developing a culture of safety in the workplace.
-Able to integrate sensors and reconfigure systems on a project-by-project basis.
-Load out projects for the field.
-Mobilize equipment. Either drive truck and trailer or air freight equipment and fly to work location.
-Setup equipment at plant site or onto vessel as required.
-Perform project which may involve operating an inspection class ROV in zero visibility environments with multiple obstacles. Operation often requires patience and a thoughtful, gentle touch.
-Perform logical fault finding practices in an efficient manner.
-Expect to work long hours from time-to-time in sometimes harsh conditions.
-Setup and record video and survey data as required and ensure it’s integrity. Backup as required.
-Demobilize equipment from site.
-Unpack and clean equipment in workshop.
-Keep ROV Engineers log and note any items in need for repair.
-Carry out repairs to ROV and associated equipment as required.ROV Pilot/Tech
As for ROV supervisor but with less requirement for pre-existing ROV experience however formal technical training, preferably with an strong electronic component, is a requirement.
SeaView provides medical benefits and contributes towards retirement savings funds on a one-for-one basis.
NOTE: This is not an offshore position and, while it pays well for onshore work, it does not pay offshore rates. It does however provide an excellent range of work with many interesting technical challenges. It involves a good deal of self-directed travel and initiative on the part of the employee. We are not a large firm with a large support staff. Personnel will be expected to think-on-their-feet and work out solutions to problems as they arise. The job is very much a lifestyle as much as it is a job. What the job really offers is the opportunity to matter, both technically and operationally, on projects that are often truly cutting edge.
Please send resumes to: recruiter@seaviewsystems.com
Thanks for your consideration,
SeaView Management
