I did contact most of the clients on this list and and they also confirmed that they had no requirements at this time .
Due to the amount of agency’s now dealing with Rov personnel its clear that this is just one ploy of fishing for personnel to increase the size of there data base .
Let me know what happens if you apply for one of these jobs above yes they do have a few real jobs but nothing like this .
So would someone from Ivoffshore care to comment .

ParticipantThe same agency sent a pilot tech to me earlier this year (two actually). They initially offered the guy $480 a day but he accepted $500.
I know we paid the agency our going rate of $850. The guys were actually useless but I wouldn’t expect them to be very good if they will work for that money. We pay $850 a day to secure good solid, experienced professionals and to have our choices limited by this kind of robbery is IMHO disgusting.
I’m afraid this agency has done themselves no favours by their actions.
I remember when agencies for ROV personnel were rare and there were only a handful. They asked their client what day-rate they could pay and charged the client 15% per day on top (not the ROV guy) if it was a long term engagement then this percentage could be reduced. I worked freelance for many years like this and found it to be a fair and acceptable arrangement. It could well be that todays "recruiters" are commission based rather than being paid a decent flat salary which of course is not to our industries advantage in the slightest.
Sorry to see ROVworld is going south. It has been a great platform for sharing and solving technical issues in the past but I do agree it’s become more and more swamped with questions on how to get into the industry usually by people who can’t be $#sed to either find out by themselves or go knock on the doors you have to knock on if you want it that much. 🙄December 5, 2013 at 10:23 am #34652IV Offshore

ROV Supervisor – Quasar SE Asia 25/01/2014As previously mentioned we will be making a more concerted effort to close out old job adverts as and when they are filled, rather than allowing them to build up on the job boards and any job you see advertised for IV Offshore will be a genuine one.
We have also be working on the new version on the IV Offshore website due for launch this month, which will have an improved application process, and some new features such as login & apply with LinkedIn.
Thanks again to Raptor for alerting us to some of the out of date requirements and we appreciate the opportunity to put things right.

ParticipantTo be fair to iV Offshore.. at least a representative has responded and acted upon comments made. Hopefully they will keep things up to date in future.
December 6, 2013 at 1:28 am #34660Roy SimsonParticipantYes it was nice for someone to let us know that the ads were out of date but my experience with Oil Careers is if you see a job that being Published and you apply if that job has expired the oil careers web site tells you " Sorry The Job Your applying For Has Expired " This is why on the ad your see ,Advert Published date and Expiry date .
Anyway people are now aware and and will act accordingly but you dont need to flood the market with requirements to run a successful agency .
Its a pity that this site is closing at the end of the month so the topic will continue on Facebook or Linkedin .
Thanks again James / Ray for your hard work keeping this site going but my own view is that there is a requirement for a independent dedicated rov site. Yes there are so many people looking for employment but thats just the sign of the times that we live in .
Linkedin nor Facebook have a data base like Rov World yes the site will remain open but information gets out of data so fast and since the site will be locked there is no way to up date it .
Anyway I am getting off the main Topic .
