I think its is something to do with having to get a ‘resident’ visa to get a work permit – or something like that.
I had one a few years back and it was the usual, height, weight, eyesight, BP – it also had a blood test, cardiogram and ultrasonic scan of my abdomen thrown in.
I’ve both worked for a Chinese company and for a non-Chinese company in China. Was there last month with Chinese visa. Not heard of ‘Chinese medicals’?
Did have to have Japanese one once to get Japanese discharge book. Also working for American company they wouldn’t accept my ENG1, OLF or OGUK medicals so I had to do their own occupational medical which I must say, was the most thorough medical I’ve ever done.
