this is interesting -deals with peak oil – an enormous amount of unofficial research is published here. One guy managed to take google maps to locate oil wells in saudi and look at levels of drilling activity !!

Another guy took satellite lidar data and looks at shifting sands over gharwar reservoir.

apart from that -it’s also quite "survivalist" – go buy some solar power cells and build your own power generators, etc.

there’s soo much info on here, take you weeks to read it. Also stuff on experiments people have done in the states on comparing prius vs european cars…..
