    Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone can give me some info on Seahorse Services in Vietnam?

I have not heard about them before but have seen a few of you have worked for them in the past. So far I haven’t managed to find horror stories, which is a good sign but still want to be cautious.

How are they with conditions and payment times?

    Any help is moocho appreciated.

    😀

Old ROVs , clean well run vessels , only local food aboard the vessels, no phone and no internet ,,, but great people very competent and willing to learn how to do it right ,
I have worked for them through agencies , no problem with payments ,,

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Noone living locally will work for them anymore as the have shafted them all at some point

Terrible vessels, crap food, 40yr old ROVs .

Late pay , if at all . History of non payment for a lot of guys.

All the best local guys they had have left after the way Mr Duc treats them and the spiteful crook has paid off the immigration dept to stop them leaving the country after losing twice in court trying to get money out of them for leaving

The office girl will lie to you to get you to do what she needs then deny everything.

If you want to take a step back 20yrs on crappy jack ups , 4 man cabins with halfwits in and out of the room all day and night , and Vietnamese run Vessels. With a high possibility of not getting paid. Thats the company for you.

    Thanks for the info guys.
I ended up somewhere else and probably better off for it. I was approached via Linkedin and perhaps because something didn’t sit well, I decided not to go.
In all honesty, even if I was to get paid, no comms on a boat in 2014 is not good. There are plenty of other decent boats out there that do.

Have a great easter all and for those on the waves, there will be beer on your return..

Only work for Seahorse via an agency for peace of mind , but now they are losing their own local guys, due to penny pinching ,,, $30 a day rates to locals and trying to keep them in restrictive contracts for years .

I speak from bitter experience when I say, there is no peace of mind via an agency I’m afraid…he does take the mickey with these people as well.

Even amongst his own fellow countrymen this company is held in low esteem, shame, because he has a good niche market in VT.

The VN techs and pilots are some of the best I have ever worked with. The ROV comes on deck, they are over it like a rash without prompting. Talk about conscientious. A rare commodity in this industry I can tell you.

The owner is a your typical used car salesmen, crooked as they come and tight as a nuns chuff.

The nightlife in VT keeps your spirits high though 😆
