Mr Kangaroo , My advice to you is to acquire a panamanian Discharge book as they are more easily accepted around the world………… 🙂 Unless…………………. of course you are British then a British Seamans Discharge book would be better. ( The British one is Blue )
To Acquire a Discharge book ( That is the one which you get the Ship’s captain to sign on and off the vessel ) the best approach would be through a Company letter head explaining the reason WHY you need it .
The seamans book ( in the case of British , is red and is effectively a seamans passport , There are NO spaces in it for stamping in or out , on or off and is mainly used for the Merchant shipping Industry proving that you are indeed part of the ship’s crew and on the articles ) It can be handy but only accompanied with a company letter head stating the date and ship embarkation or dis-embarkation . You are then allowed IN most countries 24 hrs in which to pass through their boarders Without the use of your National passport 😀
Hope this helps 😯
