The DOF Subsea Group is a specialist subsea service business that provides subsea construction, engineering, IRM, ROV and survey services to the world’s major subsea markets. Those XLXs were ordered in February 2008.

And the new Vessels presumably before that.

So it would seem to be more a reminder of good times past, than a sign of good times to come.

some one is expanding …must be good time coming

Lots of companies try to expand out of trouble when times are tough.

For example. we bought another pen the other day and some extra paper for the printer… This is over and above our normal stock level (I’ve checked). Hopefully that’ll make a difference as we are hoping to increase revenue by offering a photo copy facility πŸ˜‰

Fugro Rovtech take delivery of their new boat to replace the chartered Highland Eagle next week in Aberdeen.

They are due delivery of their new build construction vessel twards the end of this year.

FCV ROVs are still being built and rolled out throughout Fugro companies.

    …….must be good time coming……maybe!

    Extract from a recent FT:

‘Britain’s proved oil & gas will only cover six years of production at present rates……….’

‘the government and opposition have been urged to move quickly……to support investment in the North Sea, which faces problems of dwindling fields and obsolescent infrastructure’

And from the business section of the Telegraph:

‘Companies cannot afford to increase oil & gas extraction from the North Sea’

    Stay safe

Press on Skandi Vega (which seems to be the next of these new vessels to be delivered) says it will be working in Norway on Contract for Statoil Hydro, for at least 2 years with further options.

Also I cant see press on massive contracts in India, only a BOP Recovery.

So, to be frank, I am not believing you.

Eh, no. Geoholm has a four month job for Boots and Coots and thats it, Vega like 05 says in Norway, Skandi Commander Brazil, Skandi Santos Brazil, Skandi Aker when it hits the high seas no firm work and none predicted, Skandi Aker 2 when it comes at the end of the year no confirmed work and none forcast,

can I ask where you getting your info from liddeljohn? must be the fillipino nightshift cook again.

    regards.

    Agree with last comment.

They are tactically organising and restructuring and training to pay as little for staff as possible while keeping everything flowing.

For example, they sent alot of Norwegians down to Brazil to train Brazilians.

New builds in Norway have some sort of tax benefit to the company. Cant remember what it is exactly but the more they build, the better the tax situations is making new builds pretty much meaningless to us.

Or am I being sceptical during these harsh times??

The ocean buzz info comes from a Webmail sent by subsciption to me Bi-weekly i cannot seem to get a link for it …also DOF subsea contacted me recently to send updated CV as they said they have a lot of contracts…..but i do not trust them as the Dutch companies tend not to pay great rates in my experience.
