    Hi guys,

Since leaving my day job in February and work as a freelance pilot tech I have done around 80 days work, on different contracts and the ROV has been used around 4 or 5 days. My longest contract in one stint was 39 days and the ROV was used for 2 dives for around 12 hours in total….

Surely there are contracts where the ROV is used more and I have just been unlucky or lucky, depending how you see it.

I would prefer working as the time passes quicker.

Is this the norm? Thoughts please.

sometimes it’s the luck of the draw, there are heaps of guys reading for HNDs and BSc s these days – use the paid time to study ? there are others with pretty decent stock market portfolios and ebay online trading companies too !

If you are looking for higher utilisation, try and get in on a construction project. Sounds like you may be on a drill support job?
