Well after all this time Sub Sea have put their day rates up for Supervisors from £420 to £500 .
It seems that their office in Singapore is sending out letters to confirm the pay rise. Let hope Fugro and the others will do the same and there won’t be so many jobs on offer with silly low rates .

This company is too big, greedy and arrogant to value their personnel as assets.

There are companies in Singapore paying that rate to their P/T’s already.
September 21, 2012 at 5:53 pm #33268Roy SimsonParticipantYes how very right you are but its a step towards better than the crap rates on offer at the moment and they wonder why they can’t find any body !
All they seem to do is farm the requirement to the agencys but as one company said to me the other day all they can get at the moment is trainees they cannot get experienced personnel and so it goes on .I wish that all the agencys using this site would put the rates on offer as it would save so much time apply for a job only to find out that there paying crap rates.

September 22, 2012 at 1:51 am #33270Roy SimsonParticipantNot sure about Pilot/Tec Rates I only know one of my friends who signed a contract with them received a letter from the singapore office telling him that his day rate had gone up to £500 from £420 .

I must admit to getting more than slightly annoyed when I hear statements like this, many ‘trainees’ may well be inexperienced from the piloting perspective but very experienced in their trade. I personally have worked on a Cougar that a supervisor couldn’t fix after a whole week of downtime, I sorted it having never seen a Cougar before in less than 2 hrs. The again, I’m only a trainee.
Why do so many companies have such a downer on trainees? some supervisors must have come out of the womb as experienced ROV pilots to hear them talk.
Not having a go at anyone here just a general observation.

September 22, 2012 at 3:07 pm #33272Roy SimsonParticipantSorry but I was not getting at trainees only stating that the only personnel he could hire did not have the experience to do the job .
You only have to look at the forum to see all the “Wanted Urgent Rov Personnel“ All the experienced guys are all ready working or they won’t work for silly rates .

Feel free to open a new Topic regarding Trainees !
Good Luck

September 22, 2012 at 6:11 pm #33276Carlos MiguelParticipantI had been offered by SS7 for a PT position last March 2012 for a day rate of USD418 and never accept the offer. I had passed the technical interview through phone but they offer me shit rate. Until now, they keep sending me an email with a subject; Experienced ROV Personnel – Confirm Telephone Interview Schedule, and tell the HR in UK that I already reject the offer since March.
