Just friggin’ outstanding!!! Transocean announced that was their best year for safety in company’s history!!!!! Just friggin’ outstanding!!!!! The blame game is still going on back and forth I see as well. Haven’t ANY of either company’s "executives" heard of a STOP work policy????? I think I would’ve much preferred getting run off the Horizon by stopping work and shutting down (due to procedure changes / equipment problems) before the blow.

Schlumberger cementers did just that, walked off the job 24 hr’s prior to the blowout due to disagreement with the BP Co-rep over forward progress, as is reported.

Bet those guys are proud of themselves for standing up and good of their company to support them at the time. Too bad more would not.

…"Federal prosecutors are considering whether to pursue manslaughter charges against BP Plc (BP/) managers for decisions made before the Gulf of Mexico oil well explosion last year that killed 11 workers and caused the biggest offshore spill in U.S. history, according to three people familiar with the matter.

U.S. investigators also are examining statements made by leaders of the companies involved in the spill — including former BP Chief Executive Officer Tony Hayward — during congressional hearings last year to determine whether their testimony was at odds with what they knew, one of the people said."…
