I just sent in a CV and had an auto-reply to say that:
"Etpm, the Professional Marine, Subsea, Diving and Renewable Energy Recruitment Specialists confirm receipt of your email. However, we are no longer accepting CV applications via e-mail and require you to log on and register via the new Etpm website link below:
http://etpm.recruitment-websites.co.uk/default.aspx
The new website application system is interactive and will allow you to upload your (word format) CV directly into our database. Additionally it will allow you to upload CV updates at a later juncture ensuring we are always up to date & your info is never lost.
Both Etpm internal managers and in the future our client base recruiters may access your CV (minus contact details) through the new website. The technology involved will allow all concerned to easily match your previous experience to potential opportunities. Furthermore, registering through the website allows both Etpm and clients to search thousands of CV’s on your very specific qualifications, vessel types and experiences – all in seconds. This greatly enhances both Etpm’s ability to recruit appropriate personnel and ensures that future employee’s do not miss out on excellent niche opportunities."
I think that the fact of your CV being freely accessible in a database should be included in the advertisment so that you are aware before you even apply. I personally don’t like the idea so won’t be submitting.
