It is steady trend to hire locals in ROV crews in SE Asia region.
So, they speak English and have previous experience in electronics( generally).
    But what about personal attitude?
    Are they responsible and stress-resistant?
Are they have good interpersonal skills in multinational environment?
    Any opinions welcome

I worked in Balipakpan region some years back with a mixture of Indonesian and Indian crews. The one thing I can say with certainity is they are human, faliable like most us and are prone to all the human mistakes. Dont take them any less in any traits that affect even your own relatives.

    Ummmmmmmmmmm Freediver.

Please reread your questions. Do you realise how offensive they are.

First, there is no such word as Malasian. Indonesian and Malay ethnicity is complexed, spanning centuries and varies from island to island. It will take till Christmas to explain, I suggest you do some research.

I am surprised that the authors of this website have not pulled you up.

There are trainees and there are experienced operatives, we are all the same whether we come from the Northern or Southern Hemisphere.

Personnel from the Sub Continent and South East Asia have a great work ethic and ability and their mechanical skills are second to none.
Some are more experienced than others, as a Manager / Supervisor you need to have the competence and ability to lead and bring personnel on and not ask questions like you have on a open forum.

Your questions maybe innocent to you but to me show a terrible lack of intellect and education.

What platform do I speak from. Some will know me from the following.
I am English, 57, born in Malaysia and offshore as a Diver and ROV operative for 36 years and still offshore.

Have no intend to offend anyone. From my sailors experience and background I have had problems with above mentioned crew members.
So stay calm, longinthetooth, if anyone have different opinion please feel free to PM to me.

It does not matter. Originally was born in Ukraine, but now live in Tallinn.
Actually, I do work with small ROV’s like AC-ROV, but never have been work for big ROV companies and in the multinational ROV crews.
