I’m interested in hearing from experienced pilots/supers. about LED lights on vehicles?
    How did they perform?
Are they as bright in the real world as opposed to the tech world?
Do they increase your quality of ops and pics etc.?
Are they yet a viable option?
Any comments from the people who use them as opposed to salesman would be appreciated.
Sorry if this topic has been on before but I didn’t see one. ๐Ÿ™„

The demo I seen at a show was impressive but yet to see any in action. You can now get a drop in module for QL3000 lights to convert to LED but still leave the 110V input which means no changing wiring, supplies etc.

We are supposedly going to get 1 or 2 to try, if we do I’ll let you know.

Gent’s I have seen a demo of some made by ROS lights out of California, a guy called Beto is the sales rep. They do look very good and robust and come with a safety feature that turns them off if left on by accident once the sub is out of the water. Basically if the trainees are doing deck checks they cannot blow lamps as an inbuilt thermostat shuts it down once temp is reached. I have been told that sonsub and s club 7 have purchased some, it would be good to get some feed back on how well they worked. They also appear very simple to maintain.

I’ve seen the ROS lights and Bowtech too.Must say that I prefer the look of the Bowtech type. Bowtech also do an LED replacement bulb for the "standard ROS Type".

Dunno, but Mcartney in Aberdeen are now the Agents for ROS lights instead of Bowtech. I know Bowtech make their own lights now as well.

No-one seems to give prices on their websites these days ๐Ÿ˜•

Lostboy , the price for the ROS lights is pretty steep at the moment…$1,795, however this is what they say. Benefits of the QLED lights:

    ยท 50,000+hour lifespan

ยท 5 year first schedule maintenance

ยท No filament or bulb to burnout or replace

    ยท 120vac or 240vac power

    ยท 250w light output

ยท Same mounting holes as current halogen QL3000

    ยท 3000 meter depth

    Hope this helps.

    Yep , Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚
You know , sometimes I think to myself , there are some pretty stupid marketeering pillucks around ๐Ÿ˜ฏ If I wanted to get into a very lucrative prosporous market like the oil industry I would go in cheap and reap the rewards later ๐Ÿ˜ฏ It’s not very quick progressive response if you sell the product too expensive…………. People are then dubious about trying it out ’cause it’s alot of pennies ๐Ÿ˜•
    Unless…………… Of course 8)

Bowtech are selling the LED-1600 (multi-sealite replacement though at 1600 lumens) for about GBP600 or around GBP800 if you want dimming control (analogue or RS485!?!?).

DSPL are bringing out some LED units very soon (mainly because their HID’s are pretty sh*te at the moment).

    Hi

Have used LED lighting a few time as found it to function quite well

Using 3 Watt Luxeon with lens produced amazing amounts of light

    Check out
