any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi everyone,
I seem to be in the same position as everyone else seeking a trainee job.I have an HND electrical/electronic eng and i also sponsored myself through full European offshore survival and medical.Ive been phoning, emailing and sending paper c.v’s to most Aberdeen based rov operating companies since sept 07.Ive managed to have a face to face and also a telephone interview since with no joy due to lack of practical experience!I have been working for a rail maintenance company for the past couple of years carrying out track maintenance duties.I have recently changed job internally to my current role as Trainee Signalling Technician. We maintain and fault find on all electrical+mechanical signalling equipment by use of schematic diagrams various testing apparatus and of course teamwork!!Ive been doing this for a few months now with an in-house practical maintenance course completed.

I would much rather be working offshore within the rov industry though!Various reasons including higher earning potential with decent time off! The main question is whether an rov course would benefit my chances of employment within recognized company or just keep applying the way i have?

Any advice and guidance would be great.thanks
