    Hi all,
Just joined up so thought I’d better post. I’ll get straight to the point. Im currently earning around $100k AUD with my full time job and another $40k on the side doing some consultancy work. Ive got 24 years technical experience over a wide variety of equipment. With the last 15 years spent working at sea deploying all sorts of oceanographic equipment. I have a USL master class 5 ticket, Commercial diver AS2815.2, AD in Elec engineering, AD in Applied Science, and Electronics trade certificate. Huet, bosiet, 1st aid, riggers ticket, forklift etc etc. Limited ROV exoerience, ie only small inspection stuff videoray, seabotix etc. but lots of towed video, sleds, cameras, moorings etc etc

I want to get into ROV’s full time, looking for Fly in\out offshore work. What are my chances of breaking in and what sort of $$$ can I earn?

Any advice \ contacts will be gladly appreciated. (even abuse 😀 ) My cv’s in order and have just started sending it away. Fly in work is important as I dont want to move because I live in paradise!
    Cheers cary

    Dude,

You’re not a newbie…. Throw out the line and see what you pull in… Although, with the MUA taking the ROV guys under their wing, I’d say that you’re in the right part of the world for the ROV industry. The pay might be a bit more. Guys down under got any more views opinions for dugong?

Thanks mate, by newbie I meant here, and only a part of work is the little rovs (which i can swim faster than). Trying to get in with the big boys now, i always hear the stories of the big $$$ when im on the wharf or in the pub. And keep being told to get out of where i am and start earning it. What I’d really like to know is what i could earn realistically. For the above I do about 200 days at sea and another 60-80 in the office, so its not really that good. thanks for any help. MUA all the way 😀
