What is travel safely by boat certification? I have never heard of this before. Surley one of the safety courses covers it either the STCW 95 or UKOA or OPTIO qualifications would make you safe to travel by boat or have they added an extra cert in now to take more hard earned cash off the guys or companies.

    "Travel Safely By Boat Certification"

I was about to ask the same question! New one on me.

What happens to those of us who have been doing ROVs for several years ++ and have no such thing as an IMCA Logbook? Only seems to be Trainees have such a thing these days 😀

    Hi luckyjim37

I have an UKOOA medical and an OPITO approved survival training. Travel safely by boat, also OPITO approved, consists of, if I remember correctly, boat boarding techniques such as swinging on by rope, using the frog etc. The certificate is issued separately to the safety training, HUET and emergency training. I did mine in Malaysia.

    "Hallo Dear" Subhash,
I can guide you to the FAQ’s link in the site navigation section top left of the page, should asnswer some of the questions you and a million others keep asking with the same post. My my, you’ve gone to a fair bit of trouble posting in so many sections advertising the fact you would like info on how to get in to the game, even going as far as starting one of your posts with "Hallo Dear", being this personal in this game will get you nowhere fast I am afraid, likely lead to a slap or two but you may get lucky(if you get a start) and end up working with someone of that disposition. It would help in your CV to add if you are pre-op or post-op.

    Cheers

    Sniffy

PS I’ll have a quarter of Afghany Black thanks!!
