It seems to me that working Norway is a minefield for Tax.
1…Work offshore starting and returning disembarking to Norway = 50% tax deduction and little chance of the refund
2…work offshore starting from Norway but disembarking another country = no Tax deductions = gross pay .
3…work onshore in Norway :eg mobilise etc = No tax deduction= gross pay.
Is this info correct ? because it seems to me that no sensible person would work Norway offshore if you have a 50% Noway tax deduction with little chance of a rebate.
even with an uplift on normal dayrate you will be out of pocket as most uplifts seem only 15%
I have worked Norway onshore before and paid no Norweigan Tax as a contractor in the yards and rig upgrades.
I am now getting a load of offshore offers for that sector but am reluctant if I am losing out financially.
