You’re a very trusting soul lad…. Unfortunately, there are a lot of folks that you shouldn’t trust with the information given….
You may want to edit the above pretty soon.
Wish you the best – be careful…….

you would be advised to remove your personal details from that post, it is not a good idea to put them on the Internet for all to see.
Also, you will not get a job offer as a Trainee (for that is indeed what you are, you are NOT an ROV Pilot Tech II, no matter what you have been told or believe after attending that course). You need to apply directly to ROV companies for a TRAINEE job.
Are you willing to move to either UK or Canada? very few companies will take you on if you remain living in Zimbabwe.
You require a lot more electrical, electronic or hydraulic qualifications or experience to stand a chance of being offered a job.
October 9, 2008 at 12:21 pm #19594ROVRattParticipantHi Nathan
Take the advice given by Scotbeve and Rayshields. You have some experience but unfortunately you are definitely not an ROV Pilot/Tech yet. Try to get some technical qualifications as well. You could try one of the South African Technicons.
Some of the ROV companies do fly their employees from South Africa anywhere in the world but you first need to be employed by one of these big players.
Don’t bother with the sports achievements in the CV either. No one offshore gives a continental about what sporting records you broke or what you played. They are only interested in whether you can handle a 12 hour shift and persist in fixing anything to prevent downtime.
Good luck.

Yes, do leave out the sporting stuff (although there was a oops mgr who would hire you if you were wearing an Oz rules rugger shirt without even looking at your CV 😉 ). BUT, add interests out of work that (may) lean towards any / all of the ROV disciplines… All these little small things could add up to a hire….
October 9, 2008 at 4:28 pm #19596CENTURIONQXParticipantHello Nathan Douglas
Take the advice given by Rovratt, Scotbeve and Rayshields. No doubt you have a reasonable experience in the industry but i will advice you to take off your CV from this forum ASAP and put it through the right channel for CV submission. The person of your type shouldn’t find it difficult to get a job in the industry. Just try and submit your CV through the right source. Thanks.
