    Hello,

Have any of the other successful trainee applicants from the I-Tech 7 interviews held a month or so ago recieved their written agreements/contracts in the post yet? I’ve received the draft email version, but still waiting on the formal version in the post. I recall them telling me they were coming from Singapore. I’ve emailed the HR dept. but they must be busy as they seems to take their time to reply. I’m due to start 8th December.

    Cheers

Do not worry to much as the admin side are moving offices at the moment so everything is slow. Should all be rolocated by 17 November.

Congratulations on the position. and Good luck.

I was beginning to worry as well, and I don’t start until January!

Thanks, reassuring to know that. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has given notice on my current job upon receiving the email documents only to be waiting for the formal one, wondering "hmm, I wonder if they will scrap this current course of trainees?!"

Woodchopper (and anyone else who is due to start with SS7 on the 8th December). This date is now less than two weeks away! Did you receive your written contract yet?

    Hello JoeBolt,

I finally managed to get in touch with the office yesterday, they moved locations and their numbers have changed, although the email addresses are obviously still the same. They have requested our contracts/agreements from Singapore, and once they receive them, they will forward them onto us. I’ve been assured that the date is still the 8th December, and we will be receiving an email this week requesting details for accommodation and travel.

Ok, thanks Woodchopper. Like you I was wondering whether I’d perhaps ‘jumped the gun’ resigning from one job, when I had nothing in writing about the next. A work colleague of mine summed up the present employment and economic situation quite well, when he said to me: –
‘Right now, I’d think twice before changing my socks, let alone my career!’

When are you starting JoeBolt? you mentioned January earlier on, but also mentioned the upcoming December intake. Your right about the current economic climate, and its only going to get worse…

Will this be your first time offshore?

I’ve been given two different dates in January – 19th and 26th. Still waiting for confirmation. First time offshore oil/gas industry but previously worked as a merchant seaman, (amongst other things!)
