December 16, 2008 at 9:22 am #20949Gordon PrestParticipantHi,
I represent HPR(ME)LLC. We have a well established office in the UK just outside Aberdeen and opened the office here in Abu Dhabi in September this year.

Take a look through the adverts posted by other well established ROV Agencies and see the info they supply in a post.

Agreed
December 17, 2008 at 6:43 am #20952Gordon PrestParticipantThanks for that info. The post was a general request for personnel as we have ongoing project and new projects starting regularly. I think, following your advice it would be best to post new adverts with each new client enquiery I get, giving the information you suggested. Thanks again.
December 17, 2008 at 10:10 am #20953BristarParticipantSounds like you were just fishing for candidates to punt out.

That would be better, oo many fly by night companies fish for peoples CVs on here with no intention of offering them anything.
Specific jobs with detailed info will always get more replies (apart from everyone will ask you to post how much you are paying!)
December 17, 2008 at 10:56 am #20955Gordon PrestParticipantThanks again for your input, much appreciated.
Next time we get enquiries I’ll post all the details.
Cheers.December 18, 2008 at 10:11 am #20956blackbeardParticipantfor what its worth i know iain petrie @ hpr uk and he a very straight guy, no problems with payment or anything else,
cheers BB
December 18, 2008 at 11:10 am #20957Gordon PrestParticipantHi BB,
Yes, iain was my agent for about 15 years when I was offshore, back before HPR in the Maris days and then when he started HPR. I then worked with him in the office in Aberdeen for a couple of years before we started HPR(ME) in Abu Dhabi. Very good guy and we always pay on time. Apart from keeping rates at market value we believe that it is most important to pay the guys on time as he always did with me and everyone else.
Thanks for the support.
GDecember 18, 2008 at 1:28 pm #20958AnonymousGuestIt’s kind of cute that job applicants are "Consultants", along the same line that most UK residents aspire to Nazi staff cars as their preferred mode of transportation!
Then again; it may be typical of the ego-stroking required to get a UK citizen moving off of their spotty, peely wally arses and away from their ASBO ridden lifestyle!
Cheers 🙄
December 18, 2008 at 2:02 pm #20959Gordon PrestParticipantConfused by that reply dude !! ?? Maybe I’m just losing the offshore sense of humour……God i hope not !!

Is that why most road ragers seem to be driving BMWs?
Beautifully engineered motors but now every hair dresser and wannabe drug dealer seems to have one.December 18, 2008 at 11:21 pm #20961midoParticipanthey gordon, can u please tell me if i have a chance to work for ur company after i finish my ROV pilot course in fortwilliam’s The Underwater Center on march,i’m a 23 years old egyptian electonics and communications engineer with 3 months experiance in exxonmobil as a field engineer and a year and a half experiance in a market leader ISP (internet service provider) in egypt as a field engineer too, please reply me back
