In the course of my daily trading on the financial markets I’ve had some thoughts about Perry Slingsby closing up production in the USA. Perry is part of the Triton Group.
PERRY SLINGSBY SYSTEMS
SUB-ATLANTIC LTD
UKPS
SUBCOto name but a few …….are all part of the Triton group.
A full list can be found on the Triton website at: http://www.tritongrouponline.net/companies.phpJudging by past news releases, some of which appear on ROVworld.com, the group has been heavily financed by various UK banks over recent years and the downturn in industry may well be hitting them hard, along with the rest of the planet that is.
It appears to me that the Triton Group may well be struggling with possibly only one well known (to us offshore types anyway) element of the group showing any kind of profit this year, namely UKPS.
Thoughts on a postcard to…….

Will dig deeper this evening when I am back home.July 29, 2009 at 2:41 pm #24281Rons_ROV_LinksParticipantMy guess it’s not only Triton Group or Oceanteam hit by current recession.
More and more companies in oil and gas sector see their profits fall in Q2.Upstreamonline.com today:
– ConocoPhillips numbers plummet
– Hess takes a tumble
– Snam sags on demand slump
– Price plunge slugs Talisman
– Odim fires margin warningJuly 29, 2009 at 5:40 pm #24282Tony SopranoParticipantYes, Its true. Perry Slingsby in Jupiter, FL is shutting down its operations. its too bad because as I understand it, they have never failed to show a profit and were instramental in earning the Triton Group millions. Triton will tell you that they are "consolidating manufacturing" but it is BS. They are closing a factory and laying off 120 people. If you have any investment in Triton, you may want to bail out now before its too late. ๐ก

Same for the other oil co’s but it’s not due to the recession.
Global crude prices hit a record $147 a barrel last summer before falling back. US light crude is currently at $63.
That high oil price was purely speculative. The current ยง63.00 is also very nice for Mr Shell, BP etc.

If they want to save some money ars4hole off all the office based safety clowns and all the unecessary ‘project manager’ types..
