Any truth in the rumour that the ROV guys at Technip got a 25% backdated payrise across the board?
Is this off the back of the recent RMT / Divers debacle and funally the companies have realised how far behind we are??
The other operators better take note too, its time we got paid for what we know as well as what we can do.
December 3, 2006 at 8:57 pm #9531piedpiperParticipantfrom what I’ve heard from a mate of mine at technip, they are in for the same rise as the divers ie 44.7% over 2 years. But it is still to be confirmed. If/when it does happen, the rest of the companys had better do something quick

December 5, 2006 at 1:06 am #9532bigredParticipantThis is 100% about Technip Pay rise ,in all after getting a rise off the the backs of the divers its time we all joined the RMT the feedback I am getting is there is a lot doing so all with rov crew that are already members.
December 5, 2006 at 1:36 am #9533UmiCoxsoreParticipantWell said Bigred its about time we all joined the RMT.
Strength in numbers.December 5, 2006 at 1:26 pm #9534dproverParticipantHi people
I work for Technip and I can confirm to you that this is 100% true. It is 44% over two years. The other companies involved in the working group that came to this decision, are, I believe, Subsea 7 and Acergy.
Should we join the RMT – strength in numbers? Perhaps. In my former life I used to derive a great deal of amusement from the contradictory juxtapose "Military Intelligence". These days, I’m almost as tickled by the similar one "ROV" and "Team".
All the best, dprover.
December 5, 2006 at 2:57 pm #9535thinsubParticipantThis is good news or is it, will we just end up with loads of cheap labour like Aussies and third world working our North sea. Thats what happened to our Merchant Navy and the Unions did not do a lot to stop it.
But that being said we do deserve an increase to bring us up to the same level as the rest of the industry.

December 5, 2006 at 7:34 pm #9536TheblackfingernailParticipantThis sounds to good to be ture, It happened way to easy and way to fast for Subsea7 to be included / involved.
dprover? I see that you work for Technip, but are you being payed by SS7 to get the hopes of the work force up, and to keep them thinking that they might for once get something inline with the going market rate???
Is this just a ploy to stop the revolution??

December 5, 2006 at 8:12 pm #9537UmiCoxsoreParticipantTo all can confirm Technip rise got confirmation this morning in post senor pilot now 375 on salary at present with 25% rise as from 1/11/06 waiting for the rest 5% april . As for the rest have heard from others working for Acergy and S-club that they have not followed todate they have had no feed back from there gastapo head Quarters……. To all the time is now join the RMT as more are joining every day to make sure we are linked with the Divers offshore Agreement at present only Technip have honoured this they count the Rov personnel in this group….. Unlike the rest.
The only way forward is to join up and get all sub sea company’s to reconize this agreement. looking forward to a bright future when all are united and will have strength and a voice,, follow and learn from the divers example the next time we will not be getting a rise off someone else’s back its time to be less spineless and fight our own corner.Viva the Revolution
December 6, 2006 at 2:10 am #9538low_irParticipantYup it’s true, Technip riggers on £50k per annum, Deck Foreman £70k!
Don’t know why I wasted so much time at college.
I’m off to do a slinging course!
December 6, 2006 at 9:13 am #9539thinsubParticipantWell
That all sounds good to me I’ll become a rigger, now that means even more time in tea shack, less work stress and good salary to boot.
Well lets face it even Data donkeys get paid more than us and we do there job for most of them. (even fix there gear)
