My Offshore Survival cert. will expire soon, but there something I am not quite sure about:

Is it accepted that I go to work with a valid cert. and it expires during a trip, or does it have to be valid for the entire trip. Anyone??

Jobs I have been on that guys certs were running out on the job were changed out to renew their cert. One thing to remember if you pay your cert your self and it expires you need to do the whole thing again not just the 1 day refresher. You can do it 30 days before the run out date and the new one will be valid for 4 years 1 month so you don’t loose out. You can get a dispensation but its not easy ie you need a letter from the oim and some outer bits Just check with the cert provider as things change and my information is from about a year ago when i refreshed,

Your certificate MUST be valid for the time you are offshore. Normally, if you are flying out offshore via one of the heliports in the Uk for example, they will flag up if your survival or medical are about to expire.

As said, if it expires, you may have to do the full course, not just the refresher.
