Can a class II ROV deploy sand bags using 5 or 6 functions manipulator ? or only work class ROVs can do that.
and is this operation is done using the ROV to carry the bags and place it in its place OR the vessel or barge crane can make it easy to deploy the bags to seabed level then the ROV push them under the pipeline.
More info required mate…. What rov you using?We used a panther plus for the job you are talking about a few years ago, pipeline rectification I believe they called it. We had the vessel crane place a pallet of sandbags on the seabed and then used the manip to pick up each bag in turn and place it where needed. We tied rope around the sand bags with a small loop in it so we could pick up the sandbags without damaging them.
