ROV need a slip ring to transmit signal and power from its stationary side to rotary side, for different requirements, we have different slip rings choices. Small size capsule slip rings can be founded everywhere, but if you need to transfer 5000V or higher voltage and fiber optical signal, you must find the right expert. We –AOOD TECHNOLOGY LIMITED are the one, if you have such a slip ring problem, please visit our website http://www.aoodtech.com.

    Hi,

I do see that this could have applications on the vehicle itself either between the vehicle and surface/TMS i.e. umbilical or tether or alternately on various tooling.

However, as anyone with any experience in the industry would know, tether/umbilical management is a key pilot skill and NOT having a slip ring (whatever the nature of the power/signal passes) reduces maintenance tasks and increases ROV reliability. Additionally there is an obvious requirement for oil compensation and the structural engineering issues with a work class weighing 3 tonne +/- (in air) plus dynamic/shock loadings.

I see this as probably more appropriate for light work class / inspection type ROVs.

Additionally, this creates another spares requirement and introduces the issue of inline splicing of the umbilical above the slip-ring unit in the case of this being the umbilical / tether interface.

    Cheers

Having re-looked at the posting and determining its Chinese origin I can see that there are probable translation errors.

I assume in this case that "internal" means top-side in which case none of my previous post applies.

    Cheers
