SEALION Main Hydraulic Pump question

Hi guys,
I have a technical question that you may be able to assist with.

We are using a sealion ( Older Work Class rov ) and have run into problems with the hydraulic pump. It suffered a total failure, beaking up inside. Not a biggy in itself but the 2 spares are proving more of an issue.
When fitted they run up to 2700+ psi until horizontal thrusters are used in conjunction with a touch of verts. The pressure then drops suddenly top 500psi almost as if the control of the swash plate is not kicking in to accomodate the demand.
Anyone have any ideas on this or the possible cause?
Company are saying this may be correct but this is the first time anyone has seen this and the client is asking for evidence that this is correct pressure?

They all do that to varying degrees. Check your suction and preasure filters.
Was the new pump stored plugged and filled with oil.
The main thing on sealions is putting some serious time and effort into cleaning the complete system after a pump failure the crap gets everywhere and will bugger the new pump in no time.
The suction filters go on by pass when you start up any crap gets sucked straight through into your new pump.

Dropping pressure under load is a Sealion trait especially with the 4 vert systems.
Gutless buggers of things., only good for old fashioned simple drill support.
