I am 23 years old and looking for a trainee job or a deck crew in the oil and gas sector. I was in the Royal Navy for over 4 years as a Mine Warfare Specialist and as such, have experience with ROV’s and Sonar. I am currently studying IT support as well as working in retail for the time being and have had no luck in finding any jobs that suit my skills. I hope somebody can help me find what i’m looking for. I don’t have a Bosiet cert yet as I don’t want to pay all that money for me to be unsuccessful in finding any jobs and it doesn’t seem that the armed forces have endorsed any of these qualifications.
I got my BOSIET, MIST, MEDICAL , Ive been a mechanical technician for 16 years and a month of applying for every job going has led to nothing.
Just gotta keep beavering away and hopefully something will turn up eventually.
Be prepared for a lot of frustrating days and multiple applications to every company and agency going.
I have FOET, medical, some offshore experience, also as a ROV Pilot/Tech with Falcon (not much – 3 trips) and don’t see a possibility to back to underwater world. Trying and trying and so far nothing…. but believe that one day will get a possitive answer 😉

There are employment opportunities for people from all backgrounds with salaries from $50,000 to $200,000 and up even for people with no college degree.
