Consultant (just for the day)June 27, 2007 at 3:05 pm #11710K2ParticipantSadly there seems to be a number of guys in these forums who delight in taking the piss out of other posters, some warranted but most not.
Regarding employment, there are all kinds of outfits from new to established, known and unknown and lets not forget, the odd scammer. It’s a volotile industry with big $$ involved so off course it will attract all kinds of people trying to make a penny, who are we to blame or take the piss out of anyone trying to get on in life?
Surely it’s down to the individual as to whether they follow up any of the offers on these sites? If you are too dim to see through any scams then perhaps you sholdn’t be working offshore. Those in the know are well aware of the way things work and will no-doubt never have any problems.
If anyone has had a bad experience through agencies or whatever then feel free to post it and warn all the other offshore workers.
Don’t bite the hand that feeds you……
😉
June 27, 2007 at 4:52 pm #11711JamesParticipanth20mrv,
I find it very annoying when people have to write such negative comments for no apparent reason. First of all, this is one of the only sites, outside the agencies that pilots and others can see posts that have to do with employment so please, unless you are asked, keep your unnecessary ramblings to yourself.
June 27, 2007 at 6:12 pm #11712AnonymousGuestaye, well he is a here today gone tomorrow "agent" why did nobody here from him when things were slow? perhaps he is a Bidonista
best thing is you stick with him, then lets see what the REAL AGENTS say when you come begging for work when its not busy…….
see where your "buddy" is then 🙂 or are if you too busy then you can Cagati in mano e prenditi a schiaffi
but right now, he is Culata, so meanwhile, Fatti i cazzi tuoi, Effe
June 28, 2007 at 12:41 am #11713effinrepsParticipantH20mrv, you really are the worst kind of poster on this site. Why don’t you take the time to find out the facts before you start criticising people?
Mansell are a recruiting agency, they get guys interviews with the operators who are looking for contract/salary personnel. It is up to the individual to represent himself well at the interview, and up to the client whether they offer him a position. Of course Mansell get a commission for finding the guy but as far as I am aware it is a one off payment.
Unlike UKPS, MARIS et al who in the current climate, where the good guys are all busy, will send out any ‘bag of sh*t warm body’ to fill a slot. Then have the sheer bloody nerve to charge 10/15% ad infinitum for these ‘clump weights with hard hats’. Worse still – when these guys are NRB’d because, say, they are a danger to themselves and others around them – the agency will just farm him out to another operator.
I am not anti agency, I have been an agency guy myself and enjoyed the freedom of working when and where I wanted. I just think that the so called established agencies have forgotten who they are supposed to be working for, and have become somewhat parasitic and mercenary in the way the do business.
If they are supposed to be working for us, then why are they doing deals with the operators?
F*ck me, just read this back and it’s starting to look like a rambling rant, so I’d better stop now before I get on a roll.
H20mrv put brain in gear before typing fingers in motion, luv ya.

BenTo the other posters in this thread… none of you has mentioned the fact that "The more competition, the merrier". That’s the way I see it in my book. There’s enough for everybody and the more folks asking, the more the rates go up (or at least SHOULD go up)…
Ben,
You haven’t called me yet "for a conversation" as you said you would. You can call me before 8 July (going offshore). And yes, I’m a Supv. / Supt., and the rest.
July 2, 2007 at 1:01 pm #11715bburns-mansellParticipantHello Scot,
Sorry for the delay, but after our conversation today. If you have any more questions feel free to fire them at me.
Best Regards
