Had a mate do it, he reckons it was ok, pretty basic but he managed to get 90 hours flying time in as there wasn’t too many other people on the course, that was in June, haven’t heard from him in a while.

Do you have any idea about the coourse in the Phillipines with subnet? How was the course … was it informative? Is it worth a go?

Would be good to hear some news about it.

im in subic at the moment doin the rov pilot tech course. its good fun, just stay away from the blue rock resort. you can get in real trouble if your not careful! its cheaper than doing the course in oz and uk and you get loads of flying time. you can do night dives and wreck dives which are both heaps of fun

we’ve been using a navajo (3 function) and a seabotix seaeye. they are easy to fly; and have been pretty reliable. they have a small course set up underwater to follow which is great for rookies and there is a warplane, passenger plane and japanese shipwreck nearby. the amount of flying time is what apealled to me mostly; ive nearly clocked up 40 hrs so far.

Sounds fantastic! I can’t wait to see what a Seabotix Seaeye looks like. Is it going to be available to the oil and gas industry any time soon?
Good to see that the Navajo has found a market in which it is of some use. 😉

what to expect in IDESS, subic, philipine? she teacher was there last june, you get the real x-box 360 to be stung by sea urchin. if you’re electric, electronic, hydraulic is a + , a gamer ++, you ll have more fun. oh yes, avoid rocking the blue rock or you’ll ruined the sea. ensure you learned all the papers, answer all the questions. ask as much questions. you can fly night and day but don’t spoil the paradise. this place is good for those who do not know. now it has 3+1 pre-course . if you opt to stay in like I did, the food may not suit you and you have no choice. nearest plate miles away. no transport but can request i think. i never did. I am not to scare you. just consider when you had to be there i.e 3weeks -3+1 and 3weeks-ROV 😆

    Sifu,

You really talk some sense mate, it is obvious by your post that you have a real grasp on the ROV industry. It is fantastic that we can expect to see some more quality guys like your self with a command of the English language enter into the industry. Hoorah I say.

I know that guys like Lost Boy, Spear ROV and Axeman have always made a point to seek out good guys such as yourself to form an integral part of their teams.
