Not a guru, but I know this, to be only rov technician support does not necessarily mean you even need your rov pilot/technician certificate, but you do need an incredible amount of technical know-how about every single component of the ROV, you need to be the MacGyver of ROV. Flipping through wire diagrams, into transformer oil filled transformer boxes; electronic pods even have initiative and know how to invent new circuitry to get some type of add-on equipment to work. I think it takes a few years of experience to get to this level by a very driven and mentally unstable detail to perfection to become this. I think once you are there it must be something wonderful.
I do not think too many contract work ask for someone like this, they just want rov pilots and a rov supervisor
maybe try and look for work in companies where they put ROV’s together.
