    Hi all,

After being a serial browser on this page for the last few months I realised that i was well behind most of the newbies (in terms of work experience) here that are trying to get themselves a job in the ROV world.

Ive got 5 years experience as an Electrical Engineer.

So i decided to do an online course called ROV Familiarisation Basic Introductory Module + Introduction to Hydraulics.

As much as i thought this course was relatively useful i was just wondering if anyone else had done this course? And is this the kind of thing that employers might look for on a CV?

Any information would be much appreciated guys 🙂

    Welcome on board.

You need to give more info on the course such as the website or suppluing company.

It is better if people do nationally recognised and accredited courses rather than one just put together by some unknown. E.g. you can buy degrees online from so called universities but they are meaningless.

Things such as City & Guilds, SQA, HNC etc.

As your background is electrical then improving your hydraulic, fibre optics etc would be suggested. But remember we maintain the equipment, not design it. So you dont need degree level, hands on practical qualifications and experience will count for more.
