to clear up any confusion. You are acting as a Consultant and not an Agency?
i.e. you get the people for the company, pass them onto the company and then get a finders fee. You are not what most people in ROVs would call an Agency (e.g. like UKPS, Maris etc.), the people dont work through you.
People on here are used to dealing with Agencies, not so many Consultants.
August 15, 2007 at 8:38 am #12049SavanteParticipantthat expro – 19rov equivalent tooling system was being done through recruitment consultants I think as was two of the sonsub onshore operations managers positions. I don’t think it was an agency from what I asked of them.
A lot of permanent positions onshore seem to be done through recruitment consultants. Think it works on the basis of 1-off cost to the company if a person is succesfully placed.
Done a couple of contracts on that basis, it just means you’ve got to check the contracts very thoroughly and check those t’s and c’s.
August 15, 2007 at 8:48 am #12050bburns-mansellParticipantHello Ray/Savante,
That’s correct, I make the introduction, arrange a good package on your behalf and if you like the company and the company like you, a contract will be signed and you will then become an employee of the chosen company.
You work directly for the client, and not for Mansell Recruitment Group.
I hope that has cleared up any issues, if you have any more questions feel free to fire them off at me.
Best Regards

I was one of the guys who contacted you on your original post. After a brief flurry of activity and a couple of phone calls where you were ‘very interested’ and ‘going to talk to your clients’ regarding long term ‘excellent senior packages’………..nothing.
Now I see that you are still looking for the same personnel.
If my CV lacked something, then I would be grateful for the feedback. However, you are not the only ‘consultant’ or ‘agency’ who do this year after year. You basically ‘fish’, promising something long term and ‘different’.
It raises your profile, gets you noticed and fills your filing cabinet with CV’s.
Can you confirm that the jobs are, or were, there in the first place?
Or am I right in the ‘fishing’ analogy?
The start of a converstion on ‘where is the best place to live’ was also a nice touch.
An open answer would also be a good way of ‘endearing’ yourself to the ROV community. I look forward to reading it.Thanks, CROVER
August 16, 2007 at 8:03 am #12052bburns-mansellParticipantHello CRover,
If you can PM me your name it would be much appreciated, I apologise if I have missed you. The project is still looking for a few senior staff.
CRover, I was not fishing in the slightest. So far I have helped a number of guys get involved in the australian project and the new systems. So it was not some fairy tail that I dreamed up on a sunny afternoon in the UK.
As I have discussed before if you have any question or issues, feel free to contact me on either email or the office number.
As for the "best places to live" that was a personal preference as at the time I was thinking of re-locating. As some of you are aware, I have dual nationality, British & NZ so was thinking of taking advantage of it.
Best Regards,
Ben Burns

August 16, 2007 at 9:30 am #12055LukeDParticipantYou won’t get it on Pimping Rov pilots 😀
August 16, 2007 at 9:45 am #12056Andy ShiersParticipantI think the Agencies or consultants being helpful an all and a good will gesture should pay a contribution to the website 😯
To show their apprieciation of being able to Pimp on such a vast scale 😀August 16, 2007 at 9:50 am #12057bburns-mansellParticipantI am all for it, there is a thread some were that suggests we all make a payment, well agencies or consultants alike.
I am more then happy to do so,
