Work west India a few years back. Seemed to me Health and Safety just didn’t exist. Dirty rigs full of roaches. People were great though and onshore you can get almost anything very cheaply. Internal flights are a bit of a nightmare unless you are willing to bribe
I just came back from offshore West India. No real problems – Mumbai arport was a bit chaotic and the Indian customs / immigration was a bit slow at the ports, but friendly enough people.
Some people took anti malaria pills, some didn’t – depends on the advice your doctor gives and how long you are likely to be travelling onshore for i suppose.
Good tanning weather out there, so take your sun cream lol.
It’s a shit hole 😕 The first whiff of air when the plane doors open will burn your sense of smell 🙁
Customs are corrupt and a pain in the ass when you need to get out of port , police are on the take , Watch out for pick pockets Big Time in Mumbai . I didna realise what Delhi Belly was until I went to India.
Beware of the Ice in drinks.
Make sure ALL your shots are up to date prior to going.
Most of the platforms are a Joke to work on 😆
They are falling apart , hardly any maintenance most of the locals living on the platforms or ships cannot swim and they are lousy at painting !
Have fun 😆
On that topic, do they have ‘memo-paper’ in the heads, or does one have to blast the area / orifice with a water handgun as done in parts of Indonesia?
Dammit, the one gun had a hairy trigger and I got completely showered at least twice. I was NOT a happy camper !! 🙄
I don’t think I could cope with the girraffe straddle pot and prefer to go out into the bush and use leaves !!
Hoorah for the Romans and their waterborne invention.
