    Hi guys

I am looking at doing HUET however i am leaving the navy soon so if it is accredited then i will just wangle myself onto the navy HUET course.

Is it suitable for offshore ?? Does a civvy HUET contain more training?? less training??

Before you rip me though i did search and nothing came up and i even called the guys at the centre but they said they were unsure about offshore accreditation.

    Anyone help me???

No, it will not count unless it is carried out by an OPITO approved centre.

I would very much assume the civvy training is MUCH less than yours! Ours is not that onerus at all. No more cold water pools, no wind and wave machines, wear a red hat and the attending diver all but pushes you to the surface

Also, the HUET is only one small part of the overall survival certificate you need for offshore work.

I came across this very same thing years back when I was leaving the forces.

As Ray says.. OPITO approved or not valid.

You’ll need to do a course at one of the approved centres in civvy street.

    best regards
