Job Scope:
Primary responsibility is for day to day management of the departmental ROV support engineers.
Overall responsibility for ROV project technical support on all FROV ROV systems and vessels.
Responsible for ensuring technical liaison between the ROV support engineers, onshore Project Manager, and offshore ROV team.
Provide technical support on ROV installation and commissioning works.
Additional involvement may be required during intervention tooling works with clients, internal support services and 3rd party services suppliers of such equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure support engineers provide safe and effective delivery of equipment, spares and other resources in support of the project manager and the offshore ROV systems.
• Maintain highest standards of engineering, by where required, supervising and coordinating delivery of internal and third party technical services for offshore worksite, including third party hires.
• Assist the Project Manager in the awareness, and understanding ROV related technical matters relating to project.
• Assist project and business line managers with setting of ROV system budgets, and proposing investment in and development of new technology.
• Ensure proper budgetary control on project costs, maintenance costs, and ROV system CAPEX, within pre-approved expenditure limits; liaising with Project Manager or Business Line Manager if applicable.
• Ensure ROV equipment preparation for project is suitable for contract work scope by liaising with Project Manager, workshop, logistics etc, defining or assisting on any modifications which may be required.
• Ensure appropriate input is provided to maintain and improve the Company’s QA and HSE Management Systems.
• Ensure ROV and tooling workshop personnel are advised of, and understand, project specific ROV requirements, in a timely manner.
• Ensure support engineers communicate regularly with the offshore ROV systems personnel throughout project operations.
• Ensure support engineers provide technical support bulletins, auditing services and technical assistance between service and equipment suppliers.
• Liaise with project managers and business line managers on co-ordination with other projects, to help ensure optimal utilisation of resources.
• Assist project managers pre-plan and co-ordinate mobilisation and demobilisation with assistance from operations department, logistics, ROV workshops, and other business line managers.
