Engineering and Asset

position

Provision of technical support and the preparation, testing and maintenance of survey equipment, data acquisition and data processing systems for field operations.
Allocation and prioritsation of Company resources to meet project requirements and mobilisation deadlines.
With approval of Project Manager hire 3rd party assets to meet project requirements.
Provide technical support and assistance to operations units.
Supervision of base, systems engineers and mechanics as required.
Supervision of field engineers when they are assigned to workshop duties.
Co-ordination of all equipment testing – owned, hired or of client origin in accordance with Company IMS.
Liaison with ‘internal customers’ to assist with technical planning and resourcing of projects.
Keep Business Line Managers and Project Managers appraised of the current capabilities of the permanent vessels.
Maintain stock of ready-use equipment spare parts and consumable levels to support operations.
Prepare, maintain and test survey equipment and systems, and associated software packages for Company’s project based work.
Ensuring good safe working practices in the workshop and warehouse are maintained at all times.
Co-ordination of new product testing and evaluation activities.
When required assist with tender and contract review.
Where appropriate, pre-plan mobilisations, equipment installations and vessel refits and attend mobilisations as required.
Where appropriate, participate in an on-call duty roster to support field operations both out of hours and at weekends.

position requirements

Assist with preparing, implementing and maintaining permanent vessel and workshop preventative maintenance systems.
Monitor technical downtime and equipment performance and offer suggestions for improvement.
Maintain full fault repair records for all breakdown maintenance.
Continually seek the identification of new working methods and/or technology and/or cost reductions to improve performance.
Communicate with other Fugro OPCO’s providing assistance where possible and exchanging ideas and developments which may benefit the Group.
Complete essential proforma information on equipment status for input into the Asset Management System.
Maintain QC records and calibration records of all applicable equipment, ensuring technical and/or equipment registers are kept up to date.
Identify training needs and bring them to the attention of the Department Manager.
Maintain sound labour relations and morale with personnel allocated to the workshop and warehouse.
